A propos de moi

I have seen with great interest your website and I would like to introduce myself as an English-to-Italian translator.
I have been a full-time translator and terminology consultant since 1996 (part-time since 1992). My qualifications include a Ph.D. in EE at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and a degree in Electrical Engineering in Italy. I spent 6 -1/2 years in the United States studying, doing research and consulting.
I work closely with my wife, Barbara Di Lorenzo, who has been a full-time translator since 1988 (with a Degree in Foreign Languages) and offers the benefits of extensive depth and breadth of experience in IBM's translation cycle and quality control procedures.
We have been translating over 1.5 million words/year in the past 25 years in our specialist fields listed below:
o Biomedical devices and pacemakers (CPI, CPI/Guidant, Atria, Medtronic as direct client, Beckman, Zimmer, Hill-Rom, Draeger, Hologic, Stryker, etc.): > 8 million words
o HW/SW localization and MPS/ERP (Microsoft, Samsung, Dell, Google, Symantec, Computer Associates, McAfee, Avaya, etc.): > 6 million words
o Mechanical/Industrial Engineering (Graco pumps, Hyundai, Ingersoll-Rand, Daikin, Hitachi, Isuzu, Exxon, etc.): > 5 million words
o Medical Imaging (> 5 million words for GE-Medical covering the full line of medical imaging, Hologic, Siemens, Toshiba)
o Clinical Chemistry and Immunodiagnostic (Becton Dickinson, OCD, Abbott, Ciba/Bayer, Digene, Olympus, etc.): > 5 million words
o Electrical Engineering (Omicron, GE-Power, Bentley, etc.): > 2 million words
o Radiotherapy SW (ADAC/Philips, Siemens, TomoTherapy Inc.): > 2 million words
o Hi-Tech Marketing (McAfee, Lexmark, Adaptec, Hyster, British Telecom, Nissan, Lexus, Bentley, Hitachi, etc.)
We have both passed the ATA and ITI (London) accreditation exams in English-to-Italian translation.
Our routine translation tools are SDL Studio 2019, MemoQ, XTM, Passolo, and Catalyst 5-8. We supply Translation, Editing, Proofing, TEP, and MTPE services.
Notwithstanding our experience, we would be happy to take any translation tests.
